Welcome to the Outlook Express Email Troubleshooting Page.  This is only for NISHANET subscribers.

I. How do I set up my email in Outlook Express?

    Instructions:
    1. If the Email Wizard doesn't come up automatically, click on Tools-> Accounts -> Mail-> New-> Mail
    2. Enter your Display Name, this is the name that other people will see when you send them an email.
    3. I allready have an email address that I'd like to use should allready be selected, if not select it and type in your Nishanet email address.
    4. Make sure the POP3 is selected next to My incoming mail server is a...  Then type in the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses as given to you when you signed up.
    5. Next to account name, enter in whatever is in front of @nishanet.com i.e. For emailuser@nishanet.com, emailuser would be the Account Name. Then type in your password and check remember password if you don't want to type in your password every time you go to check your email.
    6. Click Finish and you are done!

II. It keeps asking me for my password and then after a while it says Your Password was Rejected.

    Things to check:
    1. Please make sure you have the correct password.  Go to Tools-Accounts-Mail-your nishanet mail account-properties-servers and make sure the password is typed in correctly.
    2. Also, in that same section, make sure the outgoing mail server is typed in correctly.  Sometimes if it is not typed in correctly it will cause the server to reject your password.

III. It gives me the error message, the host "________" could not be found.

    Things to check:
    1. Go to Tools-Accounts-Mail-your nishanet mail account- properties-servers and make sure that both the incoming and outgoing servers are typed in correctly.

IV. Outlook Express keeps asking me for a password and a domain, then when I press Cancel it says, "Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication.

    Things to check:
    1. Go to Tools-Accounts-Mail-your nishanet mail account- properties-servers and make sure Logon Using Secure Password Authentication is NOT CHECKED.

V. I've tried everything but my email still isn't working.

    Instructions:
    1. If you sitll can't get your email working then go back to the Tools-Accounts-Mail-your nishanet mail account- and click the remove button. Then go to the top of the page and follow those instructions on how to set up your email account in Outlook Express.
