I. How do I set up my email in Netscape 6.1 Mail?

  1. Instructions:
    1. Open Netscape 6.1 Click on Tasks-Mail. If the account wizard opens up just press cancel.
    2. Click on Edit->Mail/News Account Settings.
    3. If the Remove Account button is higlighted on the bottom, so that you can click on it, go ahead and click Remove Account.
    4. Click on Outgoing SMTP server in the name box, type in yout mail server as specified when you signed up. Make sure use name and password is NOT selected, and that Never IS selected.
    5. Click on New Account.  A Wizard should automatically come up.
    6. Make sure the ISP or email provider button is selected, then click Next
    7. In the Your Name box, type in your name, or whatever you want.  This is what will be displayed when someone receives an email from you.
    8. In the Email Address box, type in your nishanet email address. i.e. Username@nishanet.com. Click NEXT
    9. Make sure the POP3 button is selected and NOT the IMAP button.
    10. In the Server Name: box, type in the server name that was given to you when you signed up for Nishanet. Click NEXT
    11. In the User Name box, type in everything in front of @nishanet.com. i.e. username@nishanet.com you would type username, as your username. Click NEXT.
    12. In the Account Name box, type whatever you'd like. This is only what the account is going to be referred to as.
    13. Click NEXT then click FINISH!
